Inquirium and UNIC at the Educating the Educators V International conference

Between the 8th and 9th of May, 2025, we proudly participated in the Educating the Educators V International Conference (#ETE2025), held in Limassol, Cyprus. This event, organised by the International Centre for STEM Education (ICSE) and the InSSTER Center, serves as a central platform for advancing STEM teacher education across Europe and beyond. Dr. Olia Tsivitanidou, Director of Inquirium, presented our paper titled “Exploring the STEAM Education landscape in Cyprus through a focus group with educators and university students,” co-authored with Vasiliki Panagi, Agni Stylianou-Georgiou, and Maria Evagorou. The paper, part of the Up-sTEAm, offered valuable insights into current practices and perspectives on STEAM education in Cyprus. In addition to the paper presentation, UNIC facilitated a hands-on workshop titled “STEAM disciplines in harmony: opening possibilities for viewing and experiencing an ecology problem through a design thinking approach.” The workshop, led by Dr. Agni Stylianou Georgiou and developed in collaboration with Olia Tsivitanidou, Vasiliki Panagi, and Maria Evagorou, invited participants to explore interdisciplinary connections in STEAM through creative, problem-solving approaches. The conference provided a rich opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen the dialogue on how STEAM disciplines can be meaningfully integrated in both teacher training and classroom practice.
